After the Election: What’s Next for Health Equity?

“November 19 webinar card with speakers

For months we’ve poured our energy and focus into preparing for the 2024 election, and rightly so. We’ve pushed hard to understand and articulate what’s at stake for health equity and connect with voters and colleagues to promote the best outcome. It’s a full sprint, and we’re still at it.

But what happens when we wake up on November 6? The election sprint may be over, but our work will be as urgent as ever. Whatever happens, we’ll be waking up in a new political reality with new implications for health equity, across states, localities, and the nation. And we’ll need a fresh understanding of the moment, revived connections to each other, and concrete new directions.

In this webinar, national experts and advocates will help us reflect and regroup for the next stage. We’ll identify high priorities across different levels of action—from Medicaid support for health-related social needs to federal and state policy on housing, employment, food, poverty, and more. We’ll spot the most urgent challenges and opportunities in the post-election landscape. Most of all, we’ll come together to anchor in the new present (whether all election results have been called or not) and map a way forward for the community of leaders committed to health equity.

Speakers:

  • Sadena Thevarajah, JD, Managing Director, HealthBegins (Host)
  • Sinsi Hernández-Cancio, JD, Vice President for Health Justice, the National Partnership for Women and Families
  • Sarah de Guia, JD, Chief Executive Officer, ChangeLab Solutions
