Reimagining Financing and Capital Flows for Health Equity: Insights from UC Berkeley School of Public Health Convening

“March 10 webinar card

On February 19th, HealthBegins, in collaboration with the Social Impact Team at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health and the Common Health Coalition, convened over 60 prominent leaders from healthcare, public health, state government, finance, academia, and philanthropy to advance a common purpose: to unlock and align financing and capital flows for health equity.  In the morning, attendees shared innovative solutions, including novel collaborative financing mechanisms and place-based investment models, and next-generation financial modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and actuarial methods. In the afternoon, attendees shared bold ideas and drafted recommendations to pave the way for these innovations in policy and practice.

In this virtual briefing, we will spotlight some of the innovative solutions and bold policy recommendations that arose from our discussions. We’ll share insights and innovations for you to bring back to your organization and community, and we’ll discuss concrete opportunities for you to join others and enlist support to unlock and align financing and capital flows for health equity.

Thank you to the Common Health Coalition, California Health Care Foundation (CHCF), and Elevance Health, whose collaboration and support were critical in the planning and success of the convening.
